Tous les jours dans toutes las manières. Je vais de mieux en mieux.

I wrote this a while ago, but I thought I'd bring it up...Wednesday, April 9, 2008
Hello.I had an incredible experience today that really got me thinking...It was about 12:45, and I slowly creeped into my French G class just as the bell was ringing. I walked over to my friend Sara's seat and sat dwon. I really like it when she isn't in school, that way I can sit next to my friend Jason. Mr. M. was writing stuff down on the board and no body knew what it said. Everyone was looking at him, trying to figure out why we weren't reading during SSR.He walked in front of us, and told us to stand up. "Put your right knee up, and touch it with your left hand. Now, alternate fifteen times."I am not sure how many times I did do it, but it definatley wasn't fifteen."Do the same know, but with your elbows."I was really not in the mood. "okay, now I want you to massage with your index finger and your theumb, the part underneath your collarbone."What? That actually hurt alot."While you are doing that, look at the top of the whiteboard, and follow the point back and forth."I had such a headache after that."Okay. Take your fingers and put them on your top lip. Put your other hand on your back. Take the point your were just looking at, and when you breathe in, look down. When you breathe out, look up."I would have rather been reading. He then told us to sit down. "Cross your ankles. Now put your hands out in front of your, cross arms, and pull them into you."I knew I could do that so easily, and I did. I had no idea what he was going to have us do. "Say this over and over in your head. 'Tous les jours dans toutes las manières. Je vais de mieux en mieux.'"Every day in all weary ways. I do better and better. It hit me then. Why was I wasting my time worrying about all of the little things. I could be loving the people and things around me instead of searching for the next best thing. Because no matter what happens, things will get better.

Surviving School

We all know that school stresses us out, but how do we survive it?
-Don't watch TV while you're studying.
-Review you test papers before you hand them in, and after you get them back.
-If you get bad news from school, tell them as soon as you see them, or else you are never going to.
**Remember: What you do in school when you are a teen while most likely determine the person you are when you are fifty.**

I'm So Stressed Out!

We all get stressed right? School, friends, family, it's all too much! But if you don't handle stress properly, it can have some harsh effects.

Symptoms/ Impacts of Stress:

NERVOUS SYSTEM(brain)
-When stressed, the body shifts to the fight response, making your adrenal glands work more, increase blood pressure, adrenaline rushes, headaches, dizziness, sadness, nervousness, memory problems, and trouble concentrating.

MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM(muscles, joints)
-Muscle tension can cause migraines, and also decreased bone density.

RESPIRATORY/CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM(heart, lungs)
- Faster hear beat, panic attacks, inflammation in coronary arteries(which may lead to heart attacks).

GASTROINTESTINAL SYSTEM(stomach, esophagus, bowels)
-Change in appetite, nausea, pain, vomiting, acid reflux.

REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
-In men, decreased testosterone, in women, decreased sexual desire.

Woah woah woah!
All these symptoms! But how can I relieve them?
There are a lot of ways to relieve stress, so don't worry.

Exercise!
One of the best things to do is to exercise. Given that the stress response is usually a way for our bodies to get ready for running away it makes sense that one of the best ways of lowering this response is to run away. Going for a walk or just simple stretching exercises can all help to relieve us of the stress that we are suffering from.

Social Interaction
For most people a good evening spent with friends can be very relaxing. Research shows that those who have good family and friend relationships suffer from stress and depression less than those without such social interaction.

Prayer and Meditation
Meditation is the chance to focus on one particular thing for a prolonged period of time.

Fun
You must have time to do things that you enjoy. Don't give in to the work all the time and you will get rich ethic instead find some time to laugh and enjoy yourself. What's the point of having everything if you can't laugh?

Seriously, you can't have that much on your plate, and if you do, put it off for leftoevers.

Break out those parkas!

That snow is really coming hard out there. It's about 18 degrees this Saturday morning, and the wind is blowing at a steady rate of seven miles per hour.
Now come on, nobody cares what the weather is, or the damages it can cause, we're just worried about whether we have school or not(face it, it's true).
The hard reality is is that it is really dangerous out there, and you guys should be careful.
1. Don't drive crazily, because the roads could be icy.
2. Make sure there isn't any ice of the top of your car because it could fall into your line of vision when you are driving.
3. Watch out for all posted delays and detours, there are a lot of them out there.

I remember last year we had an obnoxious snowstorm. Buses that we only going a few miles away from the school didn't get there until 4:00!
So just be careful will ya?!

Save us before it's too late.

Finally!
Shouldn't we have started recycling bottles earlier??
I mean, we were, but not in the classrooms.
This is an excellent opportunity for our school to receive extra money by helping our planet.
Everyone should recycle!
Why not?
It's not any bother to you to put a bottle into a recycling bin instead of the trash.
We should all start doing our part in saving this world.

A carbon footprint calculates how much energy you are using, and how many planets we would really need if we were all clones of you.

IDs=Pointless or a life saver?

I know, I know, you hate them.
But why?
I mean, is it really that much of a difference whether you have them or not? Oh no! They messed up your outfit. Now it's not color coded. I'm so sorry...
Seriously???!!! Come on.
Personally, I couldn't care less. I know what the school is trying to do. But not every teacher checks if you have them, and when they do, it's not as if they look to see if it is your picture. Anyone can take a friend's spare so they don't get a detention.
That's another thing: the punishment for having them is argued about all the time too.
A detention is not that long, and if you were a good student, you'd only be doing homework at home instead of school. So technically, this is a good thing. You have more silence so you can do your homework.
Of course, you need them to buy lunch, right? Not necessarily. You can just type the code.
So wait a minute, you don't need them to get into school, or for lunch, what do we need them for?
The library.
But only to take out a book.
Anyone can just take a book from the library, it's not like anyone is watching(just saying).
So what have we learned?
The IDs are a good idea that people will know who you are, but the teachers should know if there is a strange man in the back of the classroom with out having to check to see if he has an ID.
It doesn't matter.
Just where them and get over yourself.
It's not that bad.
Be happy for the things you have instead of complaining about the small things.
