I'm So Stressed Out!

We all get stressed right? School, friends, family, it's all too much! But if you don't handle stress properly, it can have some harsh effects.

Symptoms/ Impacts of Stress:

NERVOUS SYSTEM(brain)
-When stressed, the body shifts to the fight response, making your adrenal glands work more, increase blood pressure, adrenaline rushes, headaches, dizziness, sadness, nervousness, memory problems, and trouble concentrating.

MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM(muscles, joints)
-Muscle tension can cause migraines, and also decreased bone density.

RESPIRATORY/CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM(heart, lungs)
- Faster hear beat, panic attacks, inflammation in coronary arteries(which may lead to heart attacks).

GASTROINTESTINAL SYSTEM(stomach, esophagus, bowels)
-Change in appetite, nausea, pain, vomiting, acid reflux.

REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
-In men, decreased testosterone, in women, decreased sexual desire.

Woah woah woah!
All these symptoms! But how can I relieve them?
There are a lot of ways to relieve stress, so don't worry.

Exercise!
One of the best things to do is to exercise. Given that the stress response is usually a way for our bodies to get ready for running away it makes sense that one of the best ways of lowering this response is to run away. Going for a walk or just simple stretching exercises can all help to relieve us of the stress that we are suffering from.

Social Interaction
For most people a good evening spent with friends can be very relaxing. Research shows that those who have good family and friend relationships suffer from stress and depression less than those without such social interaction.

Prayer and Meditation
Meditation is the chance to focus on one particular thing for a prolonged period of time.

Fun
You must have time to do things that you enjoy. Don't give in to the work all the time and you will get rich ethic instead find some time to laugh and enjoy yourself. What's the point of having everything if you can't laugh?

Seriously, you can't have that much on your plate, and if you do, put it off for leftoevers.
